About
Dr. Byon is the Glenn Simmons endowed Professor and the Chair of the Department of Applied Physiology and Sport Management at 快活林性息.
His primary research investigates the intricate interplay of psychological and environmental factors that influence consumer behavior within the domains of sport marketing and sport tourism. Dr. Byon's expertise extends to quantitative research methods, where he advances the field of sport management through his expertise in research design, measurement, and statistics.
Dr. Byon is an internationally recognized scholar and mentor. He has published 158 articles, delivered over 250 conference presentations, and given more that 40 invited lectures at universities, conferences, and both profit and nonprofit organizations worldwide. Additionally, Dr. Byon has chaired 13 doctoral students and served on doctoral dissertation committees for over 40 doctoral students.
Dr. Byon is an active Fellow of the National Academy of Kinesiology (NAK #630) and a Research Fellow of the Sport Marketing Association. Prior to joining 快活林性息, he was on the faculty at Indiana University-Bloomington (2015-2025), the University of Georgia (2010-2015), and the University of Southern Mississippi (2008-2010). Dr. Byon earned his Ph.D.in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Sport Management from the University of Florida.
